Aïda (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist and Registered Clinical Counsellor. She is a member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).

Before entering my current program of study, I worked as an advocate and counsellor for survivors of abuse for several years. During this time, I recognized the transformative potential of safe, supportive relationships. I came away from this experience wanting to provide this to others. My therapeutic approach is informed by relational principles. My practice is firmly rooted in the belief that human beings rely on nurturing connections not only to survive but to grow and thrive. Because of this, I emphasize establishing a genuine and safe therapeutic relationship that may serve as a foundation to our future work together.

Based on your goals and preferences, I draw on somatic, psychodynamic, emotion-focused, and mindfulness-based approaches and techniques. Committed to fostering a safe environment, I aim to provide an inclusive and liberatory therapeutic experience for all clients. My practice is grounded in anti-oppressive, socially just, and trauma-informed frameworks.

My lived experience as a Black woman from an immigrant family has made me keenly aware that our well-being may have important and complex relationships to the social, political, economic, and environmental conditions from which we originate, grow up in, and frequently persist within.
